The U.S. Army Herald Trumpets was founded in 1959 and serves as the fanfare ensemble to the United States Army Band of Pershing’s Own. They serve as the official arrival of the President of the United States. It has welcomed the arrival of the head of states, the prime ministers, Foreign Ambassadors, and royalty. Queen Elizabeth II’s arrival was announced by the army’s herald trumpets and drums, also known as the “Grand Republic” for the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway. This is a fanfare ensemble which was patterned after the British fanfare trumpet ensembles.

The Army’s Herald Trumpet fanfare calls includes the 4 Ruffles and Flourishes, Hail To The Chief, Statesmanship Ceremonial Arrival call, and the Presidential Processional as the president returns to the White House.

They participated in Trump’s Inaugural arrival, as well as the arrival of the Vice President Mike Pence.
