There will be no school on Monday the 15th because of a special birthday – Martin Luther King, Jr. It is an American federal holiday. It is observed on the third Monday of January each year.

King was the chief spokesman for nonviolent activism in the Civil Rights Movement , which successfully protested racial discrimination in federal and state law. The campaign for a federal holiday in King’s honor began soon after his assassination in 1968.

He taught me one great memorable life lesson… no matter what skin color you may be, you can accomplish any dream you set your mind too, and to never ever let anyone break you down with words! Push through and you will be the most successful person in the room. Keep faith, courage, and stay humble; the best way to kill is with kindness. Fill your dreams and make them your reality; seek greatness and greatness will find you.

We celebrate the life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jr., an influential American civil rights leader. Have a safe and great 3 day weekend folks!!
