Uncle Grandpa

He’s everyone’s uncle and everyone’s grandpa!

That’s right folks, you read that correctly. There is a relatively new cartoon called “Uncle Grandpa”. The show premiered in the U.S., Canada, and Australia on September 2, 2013.

The show is a spin-off of a previously unsuccessful cartoon called “Secret Mountain Fort Awesome”, a show that wasn’t well received and was put on hiatus in February 2012.

Why would you make a spin-off of a cartoon that was canceled? The creator of “Secret Mountain Fort Awesome”, Peter Browngardt, won several awards for the show. Awards such as the coveted Crystal Award for “Best Television Production” at Annecy International Animated Film Festival. It was the first U.S. production to achieve this.

The plot of the show is quite simple. Uncle Grandpa is the uncle and grandpa of everyone in the world. He’ll visit his grand-kids/nieces and nephews and hang out with them. Initially the kids won’t like him, but they learn to appreciate their Uncle Grandpa.

Should you go out and watch this cartoon? That is entirely up to you. I personally dislike the show very much, but that is just my opinion. You need to go and watch the show yourself in order to decide whether Uncle grandpa is a good cartoon or not.
