New Quarter, New Sports

Isabel Steinhoff, Reporter

The first quarter had two sports going on, volleyball and cross country.  Both teams have represented Kohala High really well.

Cowgirls volleyball has come to an end for the 2013-2014 school year. Playoffs were this past week, with the Cowgirls winning their first round against Laupahoehoe, but then defeated by Pahoa in the second round. It was a good season for the 6 seniors and 4 underclassmen. Their coaches were very proud of them no matter what the outcome was.

Cowboys and Cowgirls cross country is at the end of their season as well.  Their BIIFs are scheduled for Saturday, October 19th.  We’ll just have to wait for the results until then.

Winter sports are getting ready to begin! The sports that are being offered this year are boys basketball, boys soccer, girls basketball, girls soccer, and boys and girls swimming. Looking at the sign ups, it seems like there’s a lot of interest in all the sports. Fingers crossed for continued interest!

Let’s go Cowboys and Cowgirls!
