“Because the Internet” is the upcoming second studio album by the hip-hop artist Childish Gambino. The album is scheduled to be released on December 10, 2013. The recording process for the album began in 2012 and continued until October 2013.

In early interviews about the album, Gambino said that this new album will be his most honest work to date. Gambino decided to reduce his work for NBC, and will only appear in five of Community’s 13 episode during the fifth season. His role was reduced in order to work on his music career.

On November 4, 2012, producer Ludwig Goransson said in an interview that he and Childish Gambino were in his studio coming up with new ideas for Glover’s next studio album. He said it was to be a bigger album, than his debut album Camp, with more people involved in it. The album was primarily recorded in Miami Heat in basketball player Chris Bosh’s mansion which Gambino dubbed “The Temple”. During a Toronto listening session in late October 2013, Gambino revealed Jhene Aiko as one of the album’s guest appearances. He also collaborated with American rappers Chance the Rapper and Azealia Banks on the album.

On October 21, 2013, Childish Gambino released “3005”, the album’s first official single. The following day it was released for digital download on iTunes. The song was produced by Gambino along with Stefan Ponce and Ludwig Goransson. The new single is a unique love song in which Gambino expresses his love for a woman, stating he will “love her ’till the year 3005”.

The album seems promising and is certainly  worth listening to for any fan of Gambino or Hip Hop is general.
