Big Island’s boys basketball BIIF tournament will be held this weekend February 14-15 at the Hilo Civic. Kohala Cowboys having the second best record in the Division II which has them automatically in for the playoffs this Friday. The boys will be playing Pahoa at 4:30pm. Falling to Pahoa at last year’s BIIF tournament has them coming back seeking for revenge this year. A win against the Daggers will lead them to visit the gym again on Saturday for another game; they’ll be fighting for a BIIF Divisiion II title and plane tickets to Oahu to fight for a HHSAA State Title. A loss against the Daggers this Friday will cost them their whole season with no chance of a BIIF title. The boys cannot afford to lose this Friday. Hawaii Preparatory Academy is standing in their way for the BIIF title. They have had an undefeated season winning both Division I and Division II schools on the island. If the boys make it to finals on Saturday and lose, they will be playing an ILH team. This team will be coming from Oahu and the boys will need to fight their way to seed in states. States will be held in Oahu on Feb. 20 – 22 (Thu. – Sat.) at Kaimuki High Schools, Blaisdell Arena and another site that is TBD.

Good luck to the Cowboys! E Ala E Na Paniolo!
