Minecraft the Movie!?!

Jayden Lewis, Journalist

Minecraft is said to be one of the most popular video games of the 21st century. Unlike the usual viral 21st century games that often involve shooting through a first-person point of view, Minecraft is built as a sandbox game.

There is no real objective in Minecraft other than survive, one can simply build items from materials they mine and collect like a bed or a sword. There is also the occasional mob creatures that would attack at night like creepers, skeletons, spiders, and endermen, if you’re not fortified well at night.

Yes, Minecraft has been a very popular game since it’s release in 2011. It has sold over 10 million copies on the console version only! But has it become popular enough to become a movie?

Game designer, Markus “Notch” Persson, was said to be working on a new Minecraft movie with Warner Brothers. Roy Lee, producer of huge success, The Lego Movie, is said to be working on the movie with Notch. There has also been reports that the Minecraft movie  is suppose to be developed as a live-action movie.

Not much is given about actors who will be inside the movie or the release date, but seeing that Roy Lee is a part of this production, it is a safe bet that it will be a rather great success.
