Nanny of Ethiopian Royal Family Secretly Tortured

CNN recently reported a story about a thirty year old Ethiopian Nanny, Shwaybar Mullah, who was brutally and secretly tortured in a luxurious house located in Libya.  Mullah is not just a nanny, but the nanny of Libya’s Dictator’s grandchildren

It was discovered on August 28, 2011, that Aline Skaf, the wife of Hannibal Gaddafi(dictator’s son), abused Mullah. When CNN interviewed Mullah, she explained in Arabic, “she took me to the bathroom and tied my hands behind my back, tied my feet, and taped my mouth. She started pouring the boiling water on my head.”

Mullah was severely burned on not only her head but all over her body and still the wounds are “raw and weeping.”  She tells CNN that she was abused because she refused to beat Gaddafi’s and Skaf’s daughter when she was crying.  As the interview progressed Mullah continued to describe the extreme torment she experienced. “There were maggots coming out of my head because she(Skaf) has hidden me and  and no one had seen me,” she told CNN.  Eventually, the guards found Mullah and brought her to the hospital. When Skaf was discovered and brought back, guards threatened prison if she ever hurt Mullah again.  Mullah had worked for Gaddafi and Skaf for a whole year and wasn’t paid. She states that all she wanted to do was go to a hospital but couldn’t afford it because Skaf would tell her, “No money for you. You just work.”
