Michael Dalton; A.K.A. the Crazy Homeless Man

Shawn Estabilio, Journalist

Have you ever seen a man with wild hair and dark skin roaming the towns of Kohala? Normally, I would advise you to steer clear from this man, but recently he’s been arrested in Kona.

Michael Dalton used to roam the towns of Kohala breaking the law wherever he went. He assaulted hippies at the Hawi Flea Market, attempted to steal a moped, stole a horse and rode it into town, and many other deeds of misconduct.

But his law breaking days may be over because Micheal was arrested last week Thursday in Kona. Police arrested him when they responded to a report of two men receiving lacerations at the Coconut Grove shopping center.

Dalton was charged with kidnapping, first-degree terroristic threatening, harassment, and two counts of assault. His victims were taken to Kona Community Hospital where they were treated and released.

Dalton’s bail is set at $11,250.
