It’s all about SENIOR NIGHT!

The class of 2014 Seniors last home game.

Senior night was on April 16, 2014, and we took the loss against HPA. This was the last time our boys played together with their team in their home gym. This game itself was huge! There are only four teams that are going to play offs this year, instead of six.

It was a tough game to win, but our boys played their hearts out. One thing they did great was that they never give up, they kept on pushing, and played like a team. The scores were 25-19, 25-16, and 25-23. Yes, the last set was very close but we didn’t finish it. HPA played a hell of a game last night and beat us.

When the game was done we sang our school’s Alma mater to our fellow fans that came to watch our boys play. It was an emotional night because we thought we had this game but we ended up loosing it in the end. You know what they say, “you win some and you loose some.” You can’t always win. There’s always a time where you might loose.

Afterwards our four senior boys got to hit for the very last time at the end of the game. They got to take pictures with their leis and other gifts from family and friends. The four seniors are Mark Edwards, Justice Mastu, Pono Grion, and Trenton Lorenzo.

We had a pot luck in the home economics room at our school and everyone brought all kinds of different foods and deserts. We all came together to pray for our food and family. Before that our coach made a speech. It was very touching for some of us, being that I’m a Senior as well.

On the bright side of it all he gave us good news, we might have a chance to go to play offs! We need to win Pahoa, which would make us tied with them because our records are the same. If we win Pahoa on Saturday April 19, 2014, we tie and that makes us play them again on Monday April 21, 2014. We’ll play back to back, so wish the Cowboys good luck!
