Crazy Day for Cowgirls Softball!

April, 19, 2014 – The softball team headed to Kamehameha Schools Kea’au campus to play a double-header playoff game. The hectic day started at 7:00 a.m. when the Cowgirls leaped on the bus and began their journey all the way to Kea’au. The first playoff game was scheduled for 11 a.m. and the second, 1:00 p.m. That day was also the day of Kohala High’s Prom!

The results for the games were harsh. Mykala Tokunaga, Kamehameha’s Sophomore pitcher took both TKO wins that day.

For the first playoff game the score came out to be 19-2. Tomiko Coito (Junior) brought in two runs for the Cowgirls, while Kiana Alejandro-Cazimero (Sophomore) took the loss for Kohala.

The second game turned around in a good way when the score was tied 1-1 until the 4th inning when the Warriors pulled in runs on two outs. Kamehameha swept Kohala off their feet 12-1.

Taking home the loss, some of the girls headed to Prom with good news. The Cowgirls continue their journey to hopefully regain strength in another game at Honoka’a to face the Dragons once again. This game is scheduled for 3 p.m. It is a crucial game; this will seal the league’s third berth to the Divison II state tourney on Oahu.
