Senior coach Jeffery Coakley took his four swimmers to Oahu for the annual Seniors Champs meet. Kassie Kometani, Yuki Zbytovsky, Marvelanne Clark, and Naomi Ney represented Kohala in a four-man relay. The girls arrived in Oahu on Friday, November 14 and started their competitive meet on Saturday, November 15. On Friday Kassie Kometani swam the 100 Freestyle. The girls swam two relays, their first relay was a 200 yard freestyle relay, they won third in their heat. Then the second relay was a 400 yard medley relay which they won second in their heat. On Sunday Kassie Kometani swam a 200 freestyle, 100 Butterfly, and  50 Freestyle. The girls also swam their last relay of the meet. They swam the 200 medley relay which they won third in their heat for.

This was a first time experience for Yuki, Marvelanne, and Naomi. Yuki stated, “Swimming in the meet was an excellent experience. I am excited to come back and compete next year.” Naomi felt that being part of such an amazing competition made her full of excitement to go back next year and compete again. Hearing from these girls and seeing them swim would probably not surprise Kohala to see them travel to Oahu next year.
