Kohala Tennis Beats Honoka’a Rivals

Tanya Adams, Repoter

On April 9, 2015, four Kohala High Tennis players, Chance Souze, Tanya Adams, Gabriella Boyle and Zaylee Apostadiro traveled to Honoka’a. Since Honoka’a had only four players, our other teammates won by default. Chance Souze played first singles for the boys team and won both his sets 6-1;6-0. For girls first singles Tanya Adams played against a girl with the same skill level and won both sets, 7-5;6-3. Gabriella Boyle and Zaylee Apostadiro played first doubles and defeated the Honoka’a girls in each set 6-1;6-0.

Also, on April 11, boys doubles Skylar Marcom-Robinson and Chance Souze won their match. Sadly, Tiger Oakes lost his singles match in a super tie breaker. Gabrielle Bartolome brought home another win for girls singles.  Kassie Kometani and Isabel Steinhoff won their senior game at Mauna Kea. Last but not least Gabriella Boyle and Zaylee Apostadiro won their matches. The team’s next game is on April 16th at Waiakea for playoffs.
