Fear struck for residents on the Big Island of Hawaii when a local man, Valentine Kapiolani Gonsalves, Jr., 42, was with his nephew Keith Gonsalves when he allegedly shot and killed his nephew while the two were in a vehicle in Hilo at 11pm.   Valentine was charged with first and second-degree murder, possession and use of firearms and reckless endangerment.  It is suspected that Valentine did not mean to murder his own nephew but instead intended to shoot Naea Lindsey, a 47-year-old Hilo man who reported that he had been threatened during a verbal confrontation by a man in a car outside his house.  Lindsey reported that he heard a gunshot then saw the vehicle flee the area.
