Facebook Scam Shopping!

Donna Botelho, Reporter

Facebook is such a wide site and one of the biggest social media places around. So its no surprise to anyone that the site has evolved and changed within the last years of it being out. So lots of shops have made their own pages on social media to advertise their products. However not all of them are actually being honest on their pages.

Some “Trendy” stores have pictures of them selling nice clothes, “never before worn” and such. However a group on Facebook called “Knock off Nightmares” has a picture of a women buying a prom dress and receiving something very different than the picture on the website. They ship from China and apparently are connected to Chinese clothing companies under the names ‘Zaful, SammyDress, DressLily, RoseGal, RoseWe, TideBuy, Choies, and RomWe.

The clothing received is never what is shown in the picture and tempt the women giving bad reviews to delete them and write a better one in order to receive a refund. Which is never actually done. However many of these pages have a amazing amount of good reviews and likes which is speculated to be fake and from bots.

So watch out and make sure you buy clothes from credible sources online! Happy Shopping!
