It is the week right after Easter, which means it’s time for the Merrie Monarch Parade!  The festival is a week long and ran from March 27th -April 2nd, 2016.  One of the most important events during this week is the Merrie Monarch Royal Parade, which started at 10:30 am, Saturday, April 2nd.  The parade begins and ends at Pauahi St. and winds through downtown Hilo (Kilauea Ave. – Keawe St. – Waiānuenue Ave. – Kamehameha Ave.).  Thousands of people gather to view the many marching bands, galloping regal clad horses, and diverse floats.
