Yearbook mistake or not?

Donna Botelho, Reporter

High school yearbooks, we all have them and love them, looking back on them in coming years to laugh at the memories we shared. However, there can be mistakes that are made, and some are just purely for laughs while others are borderline offensive.

A Muslim student wearing a hijab (Bayan Zehlif) was identified in her yearbook picture as “Isis”  at Rancho Cucamonga California high school. She later posted a picture to Twitter stating “I guess I’m Isis in the yearbook..”

She then continued by writing on Facebook “I am extremely saddened, disgusted, hurt and embarrassed that the Los Osos High School yearbook was able to get away with this. The school reached out to me and had the audacity to say that this was a typo. I beg to differ; let’s be real”

The twitter for the yearbook stated it was a mistake with a student named Isis and investigation is on its way.

So was this a mistake or was someone acting out of hatred? Post your opinion in the comments!
