Poisonous Granola Bars?!?

Jonard Asencion, Reporter

Two varieties of Quaker Oats granola bars are being recalled because they may be contaminated with listeria. According to the Food and Drug Administration, the Quaker Quinoa Granola Bars Chocolate Nut Medley and Quaker Quinoa Granola Bars Yogurt, Fruit, and Nut are affected products. If you are unaware of what listeria is, it is a causitive agent of the relatively rare bacterial disease listeriosis, a serious infection caused by eating food contaminated with the bacteria.

There have been no illness reports yet but if your box of Quaker Oats Quinoa Granola Bars has the UPC code 3000 32241 and best before dates 10/10/2016,10/11/2016 or the other with UPC code 30000 32243 with best before dates 10/10/2016, 10/11/2016 do not consume them. If you did purchase one of these return the product or throw it away. It may contain the listeria disease so be cautious and read carefully on what the code is on the box of granola bars.
