“The sacred sign is the sacred drum”

Sacred drums, or Pahu, were in use for Hula entertainment by the Kumu Hula. It is the heartbeat of the Hawaiian culture that has been handed down from one generation to the next. Drums were also in use within religious ceremonies in Heiau, and are still in use to call upon families to come together in unity. Their purpose is to bring compassion, and the aloha spirit to honor King Kalakaua who has restored and brought back the Hula that was once lost.
