Cross Country season ends with Souze going to States

The Cross Country team has been doing pretty well throughout the season. Their coach, Mr. Muse, thinks so, too. He also says that they’ve been improving.  During their practices, each of them have at least beat their best time once or twice. Some even beat it three times.

Chance Souze has been one of the people who has been placing in the Top  20 in the meets running individually. The BIIFs and States were held in HPA and the people who qualify to participate have to be in the Top 43 for the girls and Top 45 for the boys. Chance was the only person to make into states from Kohala. He came in 18th place overall and his time was 20:24.58 for the 5k meet.

The fastest from that meet was Cody Ranfranz from Konawaena and his time was 18:59.19. Kaid Nickl came in 59th place with the time 23:08.09, Jamiel Ventura in 65th with the time 23:58.82, and William Touchett got 76 out of 77 and his time was 27:44.17. For me, I would say that’s amazing considering that it’d probably take me 20 minutes just to run a mile. Angelique was very close in making it into states. They’ve been doing well throughout their season and they’ll definitely do better next year.
