Flint Water Crisis

Destiny Souze, Reporter

Flint, Michigan’s water is contaminated and has been for two years now.

Back in April of 2014, lead from old water pipes filled Flint’s water supply, making it unsafe to consume or clean with.

More than 11,000 children have been exposed to lead which have lead to cases of possible legionnaires’ disease. The citizens of Flint rely on bottled water for everything.

Several lawsuits have been made towards government officials and many investigations have been open on this case. The city is was listed to be in a state of emergency back in January (2016). Citizens are very unhappy and parents confess that they’re terrified for their children and that if they could afford to move they would. Government officials gave an apology to the citizens and authorized for immediate action to be taken. Unfortunately, the water crisis is still going.
