The history behind it was when the Plymouth colonists shared feasts as their special thanksgiving tradition. During the break out of the civil war, National Thanksgiving day was declared in 1863 by U.S. President Abraham Lincoln.

Thanksgiving is a time where families and friends would get together to be grateful and thankful and to appreciate all things made by the Lord. This broadcast of the mass from the National Shrine will be televised on Eternal Word Television Network which begins at 7:00 A.M. as everyone gathers inside the great chapel as music prepares to uplift and inspire many on this special occasion.
