2016 Waimea Christmas Parade Preparation

Kuha'o Kawaauhau, Reporter

As December 3rd rolls in, Waimea Christmas Parade is upon us. The parade will begin with the Scout troops marching units, both boy scouts and girl scouts, followed by the sights and sounds of the great West Hawaii County Band as they perform “Mele Kalikimaka!” Following the county band, a fire truck known as Company 9 will be participating in this parade. Christmas is a time to celebrate with families and friends as we share in the spirit of the great holiday season, as well as singing Christmas carols! Christmas carols will be heard and sung on floats as they pass by, along with this year’s Grand Marshall participating in this parade.

This is the time to share in the spirit of Aloha, and a time to be thankful for what we have.

Be prepared to come down on Saturday! The parade starts on Saturday, December 3rd at 5:30 P.M. until 6:45 P.M. as all spectators gathers to watch and see all the floats pass by, and all Waimea elementary students will also be marching in the parade as they sing traditional Hawaiian Christmas songs and Christmas medleys.
